Kao Data's four-building, 71 MW campus at London Road, Harlow

Kao Data's Harlow campus is on London Road, Harlow, on the site where Sir Charles Kao's work on fibre optics took place in 1966. The 15-acre campus comprises four carrier-neutral data centres that Kao Data says will support 71 MW of IT load across 150,000 sq ft of technical space when complete, powered by 100% renewable energy. KLON-01 and KLON-02 (8.8 MW each) are operational, KLON-03 (17.6 MW) is under development and KLON-04 (36 MW) is planned.

Kao Data lists a 61,000 m² campus with 14,000 m² of technical space in 16 technology suites of 850 m² across the four facilities. Its colocation is Tier 3 equivalent and concurrently maintainable, OCP-Ready and NVIDIA DGX-Ready, with free-air cooled halls and an SLA-backed PUE of 1.2. Technology suites support enterprise loads of 1,100 kW or 2,200 kW, private cages are offered for deployments of about 34 racks or more, and individual quarter, half and full racks from 1 to 20 kW are provided with retail partner ServerChoice at KLON-01, in hot-aisle containment.

Generators run on HVO fuel and the architecture is rated BREEAM Excellent. Kao Data says its technology suites are monitored 24/7/365 and that an operations team provides ticketed 24/7 remote hands support.
