Stellium 1 is the main data centre on Stellium's Newcastle campus at Cobalt Park Way, Wallsend, connected directly to the 275kV National Grid. Stellium states more than 4,264 m² of IT space in four 1,066 m² halls, 11 MW of IT power, a Tier 3+ design, a design PUE of 1.24 and REGO-certified renewable power, with racks from 4 kW to 50 kW.
The site hosts both points of presence of the NCL-IX internet exchange and two meet-me rooms. Stellium says the AquaComms North Atlantic Loop and Altibox NO-UK subsea cable landing stations sit inside the data centre. It supports high-density and HPC racks with in-row and rear-door chilled-water cooling, and bespoke immersion-cooling designs.
